Courage: I Dare YOU…
As kids, we used to the ‘I dare you to…….’ challenge a lot, its not anything like the truth or dare game we play these days but something similar. I remember on several occasions my older siblings will ‘dare me’ to report them to my parents with the contradicting look in their eyes that says “we know you would but wish you wouldn’t”, but since I was the tale teller, more like the whistle blower of us three, I end up telling on them and usually bear the brunt and anger of my siblings later.
Over two decades after, I’m not certain where all that courage ran to, I suddenly lost that ability to damn whatever consequences and face situations headlong, that fearless little girl was lost somewhere beneath, I lost the will to dare until I had a meeting with myself and asked some very crucial questions like what would be the most important thing to me at the moment. The reality of what Aristotle once wrote struck me, he said that the common aim of mankind is to be happy, whatever your definition of happiness is.
I desperately NEEDED to be happy, especially at my job and just like everyone of us, somehow, somewhere the fear of ..so where would the next meal come from jumped in and I had to weigh my options, the option to either take that leap and just dare to be happy or remain miserable with food on the table… my choice, you guess.
I’m sharing this because I hope to be able to challenge someone to take that huge step, to shut all obstacles and discouragements out,
To DARE, Dare to live, dare to be happy, dare to love, dare to be different, dare to live your purpose and remain trusting that you will be taken care of, after all, your source of supply NEVER runs dry.
