The Treasure Sacrifice…

God values our obedience more than anything else. He is not pleased by us being defiant. It’s not once or twice that I have viewed God as being so harsh and unfair especially when I’ve done things contrary to His word. It’s because He loves me. He corrects and rebukes us, sometimes the hard way so that we may grow and be like Him.

Unless we have an obedient spirit, we cannot experience God’s love. My experience with Him has taught me. It’s not all about me feeling like God is pushing me so hard to the wall that I view life as being unfair. It’s about Him clearing my flaws and allowing to live as justified.

Until we realize that God is a jealous God, we can never understand clearly what He expects of us. He is not like man. He does not expect our obedience only when we ‘feel like.’ He expects compliance whether we like it or not. Unless we give or hearts to Him so that He can mold us, then all we do will be vanity. He is above all and He expects us to view Him as He is. Nothing less.

When we obey…
There’s long life for us if we obey (Proverbs 10:27). The heart of obedience is the acceptable sacrifice. Long life is not only about the number of days but long life with God, His blessings and His presence walking with us all through. Abraham moved from his motherland because God asked him to. It’s not that God hated Abraham so much to separate him from his family. He was seeking his obedience and Abraham proved it to God that he was truly His child.

Your life will change just by heeding to that still and small voice inside. Do not despise it. That is where your blessings lie, just like Abraham’s. Obedience is the only true sacrifice. Struggling to make things right? God is calling upon you and me to start living a life of obedience. All we need is a contrite heart that is ready to turn around and come back to our first love, Jesus.
